It was reasonably priced, compared to other small hotels. The room was nicely furnished and included a lounge and a fireplace. The staff were all attentive and extremely friendly, which was unquestionably a plus. Location: the hotel was close enough to wonderful gardens. Local fast food option Big Tuna Fish Co was 10 minutes walk away.

the old-world charm of this place really stood out, especially with its lovely gardens and ample parking for those travelling by car. the library was perfect for cozying up by the fire, and the resident puppies were an adorable bonus. I absolutely loved the historic charm of Fitzroy Inn Historic Retreat. Taking the self-guided history tour was a highlight of my stay, and it was fascinating to learn about the inn's rich past. The gardens were beautifully maintained, and I even had a delightful picnic in the gazebo one evening. The room itself was incredibly comfortable, from the cozy bed to the off-street parking with charging stations for my Tesla. It truly felt like a luxurious retreat.

While the location near the railway line and the noise from the trains did interrupt my sleep at times, it was a small inconvenience compared to the overall experience. Additionally, the breakfast included in my stay was a basic continental option, but I was hoping for a bit more variety and freshness.
